I was married to my lovely husband for more than 30 years. He's gone to be with the angels now, but in his final years here, we found it necessary to spend a lot of time at the hospital and in the emergency room. Ed had many health problems and the patience of a flea! I was always so relieved when he was at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital; everyone - the nurses, the doctors and the staff - were so patient, so kind and so skilled.

Several years later, I received a letter from the Saint Francis Foundation asking me to consider a legacy gift. The timing was just perfect. I had been thinking about a number of options with my estate planning, and this was so much better than anything I had considered.

By making a legacy gift, I would be able to do so much good for the hospital that took such good care of my husband. It was the perfect option for me, and I was excited to be able to tell others about it. It was marvelous!

While I was always assured by the skill and expertise of Ed's care team, I was truly impressed by the caring. To feel you have people who care about you and are trying everything they can to make you comfortable...this is what healing is all about. The Emergency Room team at Saint Francis has so much patience and dedication. They see very sick people from all over the Bay Area and they work through terribly difficult situations doing what is best for the patient. It takes a special type of person to be able to give this kind of care. I'm so happy to be able to do so much good for such a great cause.
